Newton Franklin Allen papers, 1805-1903.

Collection consists of business documents including bonds, bills, deeds, promissory notes, receipts and an account book concerning the Newton Franklin Allen family of Charlestown, NH. The collection also contains probate records including power of attorney, estate settlement documents, estate inventories, and handwritten copies of the wills for Miriam E. Bond and Lampson Willis. There is a diary kept by L.J. Perry -- this is probably Lewis J. Perry, the son of James E. and Emma L. (Hunt) Perry of N. Charlestown, NH. The diary contains very short entries that describe the weather, coming and going of family and friends, and his activities such as "chopped wood", going to singing school, "commenced to sow my wheat", etc.
